Pale straw with green hues. This wine has lovely fresh acidity, generous fruit weight on the mid-palate with a delicate yet textural finish. Spice and pears with hints of almonds.

WINEMAKING

The majority of the Arneis juice was placed in stainless steel tanks under conditions that retain maximum fruit flavour. 15% was fermented in an old barrel Puncheon to help add complexity and palate weight. After fermentation the barrel was added back to the tank and the yeast lees in the tank were stirred every two weeks to build texture to the mid palate. The wine was left on yeast lees for 4 months before bottling.

CELLARING

Superb for drinking now, but can cellar nicely for up to 3 years.

REVIEWS

Arneis has posed challenges in its native Italy, nicknamed ‘the little rascal’. There are no problems in most Australian regions, maintaining good acidity and grip to its apple skin/pip flavours. 90/100.
